Weekend of fun!

Hey Putt Putters,

Well it's Monday and I'm feeling that nice burn you get when you've been riding your heart out all weekend. It all started in Britania Beach Saturday morning, we met at the Galileo Coffee house in Britania at 10:30am. On Site we had Sean Dickson, Trevor Porter, Andrew Deboer, Simon Lidner and Spencer Fitschen. The plan was to ride up to the Cabin via 401 the Glens hitting Goat View down Danalle via Handle bar heights up to the Happy Shack. Fantastic sunny day playing along the way. We stopped at the cabin for a snack got the chainsaw(Spencer lugged it on his back) in order and headed up the goat trial. Some big fallen trees were cut out of the way and we proceeded. The crew feeling the burn of the constant climbing all day long. Especially Simon after trying to follow me up this small detour, wrong way, dead end trail, up the goat which was to say at the very least a trek up very steep and exposed terrain, something only a goat would feel comfortable on. After a look at the GPS realizing where we were proceeded back down to find the rest of the crew waiting and wondering where we had gotten to. We then continued up the proper Goat trail and got about half way up until we decided to turn back. Some of the trials soldiers were pretty much spent and I was running low on gas. So we headed back down losing Trevor once and I again missed a turn had to wait for rescue from Andrew. All in all it was a fantastic ride, I would like to thank the Crew of Andrew Debeor, Gerry Shuttleworth and Cory for cutting new lines through and around the logged area on one of the main trials leading up to the cabin. Sounds like they worked from 11am to 8:30pm last Sat.

Well that was it for Britania, it was off to go Camping with my sweetheart Krista in Paradise Valley on the Cheakamus River. Set up Camp right next to the river, got a fire going, cooked up some yummy eats downed some yummy brew and hit the sack in my awesome Rooftop tent.(rooftents.ca)or (hightractionsports.com) Just flip it open and your good to go. Just park on level ground or you can take it off of the vehicle and place where you want. Where in this case we placed it right next to the river. The sound of the rushing river has got to be one of the most relaxing sounds to sleep to. Love it! Morning came and the sun was shining again, finally dragged ourselves out of the comfy sleeping quarters around 10:30. Proceeded to get the coffee going and realized we had left the bodum on the kitchen counter at home, so it's Mcgiver time, just boil water in a pot, once boiling mix in your desired amount of fresh Galileo coffee. Take your cup of choice, place one blue disposable shop towel in the cup in a bowl shape and pour your coffee in. The shop towel filters the grains, remove and your good to go, mmm coffee by the river. Next up veggie omelettes and yummy cherries. Well we got packed up around 1pm and headed home. Krista got her downhill bike and gear together and headed to Whistler to rip with some friends in the bike park. I loaded up the trials bike again and headed for Conroy Creek for a much awaited opening of Cory and Jean's new trail Beaver Pelt. In attendance on this Sunday Sunday Sunday was Tim Tallevi, Andrew Debeor, Sean "throttle" Dickson, Cory and Jean. The Trail was amazing! Nice use of the terrain, riding along rock spines jumping over crevasses up some cool chutes, sweet views of the Tantalus Glacier along the way. Overall the trial is nice and trialsy/techy but not annoying, has great flow and some fun line choices depending on the panties you might or might not be wearing that day.lol had to say it! Well we completed Beaver Pelt and continued on to ride Trial and Error built by Andrew Deboer. Cory and Jean being as dedicated as they are headed back into Beaver Pelt to do some more exploring and some polishing up on their new trail. Andrew had built a huge splatter/jump that Sean and I hit a few times. Sean hit it first even though I won the Rock Paper Scissors contest but then sally-ed on my first attempt. Sean hit it with success which gave me the confidence. I hit it in 3rd and 4 rth. Love that Gasser 4 rth gear. At the end of the day Sean, Tim and I rode Sean's trail Sally up to the summit above the parking lot. Steep steep and more steep. Good times. Love those great weekends of riding and the outdoors.
So long for now!!
